Long View High School includes a complete curriculum and classes designed to give students the skills they need to compete in college or the workplace. Students completing the Jefferson County Public schools graduation requirements are awarded their diploma from Long View High School.

At Long View we believe in letting the real world in for our students to experience. For many classes we like to bring in the experts who can answer the questions we have formulated in our classroom studies. They come to share their knowledge and insights and give us perspectives we might not find in textbooks.

Field trips and guest speakers are the hallmark of our curriculum. Every Thursday afternoon we leave the school and travel to nearby (and sometimes distant) locations to add to our classroom knowledge.

Long View has welcomed thousands of guests into our school to speak, entertain, and enlighten our students. From international acclaimed authors Jon Krakauer and John Dunning, to entertainers Odetta, Hazel Miller, and Chris Daniels, to world marathon champ Mark Plaatjes, to Bob Beauprez, Bill Ritter and politicians of every stripe, plus a wealth of judges, media personalities, educators, foreign country nationals, returned Peace Corps volunteers, religious leaders, historians, scientists, health care workers, and veterans. We believe in bringing the experts to our students.
